On May 22 at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom, a whole mess of today’s finest indie stars will cover songs by yesterday’s finest indie stars in honor of the 10th anniversary of Michael Azerrad’s essential indie chronicle Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground 1981-1991.
The lineup so far includes the Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth, Nat Baldwin, and Brian McOmber covering Black Flag, St. Vincent doing Big Black, Titus Andronicus playing the Replacements, Ted Leo taking on Minor Threat, and tUnE-yArDs doing their best Sonic Youth. More info here.
