Hello Tumblr. I would like yr help with a question about Animal Collective, and it is this: Why do Animal Collective matter (both in general and to the ppl who like them)?

But! READ THIS BIT BEFORE YOU ANSWER - I do not really want snarky responses. :) Whether you think Animal Collective are great or not, a lot of people do think that, so I’d like to understand them better, either via personal testimony or yr measured and generous observation. Thank you!

brettbott answered: If you are new to Animal Collective, I tend to recommend giving Feels a listen. It’s time and space bring about a new sense of awareness.
denjmusic answered: For me, its the idiosyncratic decisions, mainly in melody, that they consistently make. Their best songs have a unique logic to them.
