Discussing Broadcast's legacy, he goes on: “They had little to do with the retail-friendly post-Portishead  brigade or the soporific surface-level 'cool' of any lounge-pop  revivalists. If anything they were far closer to labelmates Boards of  Canada, another group using warped, wobbly, sometimes even grimy  electronics to evoke the unreality of the everyday, the loveliness of  supposedly artificial sound, the supernatural qualities of circuit-based  music.”
